As promised here is the first installment of how I almost lost GOD.


THE MODERN DAY LOST SON

I grew up in Germany, my parents were Lutheran "non-believing Christians". They had no relationship with GOD, but they believed in Jesus, the bible and in being christian. They just didn't believe in GOD the FATHER, they did believe in GOD. So I was forced to be a good christian child and go to church, study the BIBLE, do the confirmation thing and as soon as I was old enough I turned away from GOD. I did not want the GOD as I saw HIM (judgemental, disciplinarian Old man/father). So I gave up on "orgenized religion" and GOD. I was still a good non-believing christian, but I had no relationship with MY FATHER/GOD. I didn't realy want to be HIS son. I became the "Modern Day Lost Son".
It took more than 20 years for GOD to make me love HIM. The first time I noticed GODs intervention was when I was in my twenties. HE put a "religious nut" in my life. This little old lady kept pushing these pamphlets about GOD on me. She realy bothered me. Everytime she saw me she would go out of her way to put GOD in my life. Well the 'Hard Sell' didn't work SHE/GOD pissed me off, and I quit listening. So GOD went to plan B. The 'Soft Sell'.
The next time I noticed GODs intervention was when he used sex. No kidding for 27 years I was a confirmed Bachelor, no real interest in sex or women (men either), basicaly non-sexual. And suddenly my sexuality awoke, yes I got horny and wanted a wife, as a "good Christian I couldn't mess around/ have sex before marriage. So the "BAIT" stage was on: GOD put several of my 'Ideal Women' in my way and they didn't work out. Not their fault, just not my Idea of a WIFE. The last failure changed my life. This girl was almost my WIFE material, we got along, she was not perfect, but the good non-believing christian was forgiving and willing to settle.
At this point I need to mention a few things: when I said "I noticed" I realy mean GOD revealed to me in "hindsight" what he had done to get me to come home. Why he did this, I don't, I started to feel maybe he wants me to tell my story. That is why I am writing it. Is blogging the way to go? I don't know. Maybe a book? I'll try that next. But I firmly believe he wanted me spread my story to help other non-believing Christians to become Believers. You can help me by spreading the word about my message from GOD. So this is the Why? behind this Group.
